Only a few years ago I was diagnosed with cancer after losing my mother who battled cancer for many years. Even though I knew so much about cancer and was a practicing life coach, I still wasn’t prepared how to handle this new challenge emotionally and socially.
That made me think about the journey of many women diagnosed and going through cancer treatments, the decision-making process, the social side of the experience, how your closed ones handle your condition, and how YOU handle your relationship with YOURSELF in this emotionally intense period. I realised so many women still choose to bury their heads in the sand (like I did mine for many years) because no one likes to talk, and even think about cancer, but it’s time to realize this is a potential threat to all of us.
I believe it takes a village to survive and prosper after cancer.
Instead of fear it, we have to look at cancer right in the eyes and take action. Cancer is preventable, you can survive it, and build your life again…My dream is to help you do that in the best possible way for you, through nurturing your body back to balance, through a strive and thrive mindset, and with a little help from our community, other women who’ve been through the journey. I believe it takes a village to survive and prosper after cancer. The more we fear the diagnosis and the disease, the less resilient we are towards it. And with the latest stats, everyone is at risk and everyone can take part in the “cure”.
